Entrepreneurial Lifestyle: Advantages of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) over Traditional Marketing

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), also known as network marketing, is a business model that differs significantly from traditional marketing approaches. MLM involves the sale of products or services through a network of distributors, who earn income not only through direct sales but also by recruiting new distributors and earning a commission from their sales. This research summary explores the advantages of MLM over traditional marketing methods.

Advantages of Multilevel Marketing (MLM): Lower Initial Investment and Overhead Costs

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): One of the most significant advantages of MLM is the relatively low startup costs. Distributors typically purchase a starter kit and pay a minimal fee to join. This contrasts sharply with the high costs associated with setting up a traditional retail business, which often includes inventory, rental space, and staffing expenses. This is not only for retail, my last business (a Dance Academy) involved a huge investment, that I made and lost completely as I shared in my posts Asymmetrical risk and asymmetrical reward. And Everyone wants to learn how to win but no one wants to learn how to accept defeat. Then the low startup cost is a huge advantage.

Traditional Marketing: Requires substantial capital investment to establish a storefront, hire employees, manage inventory, employee social security, and create marketing campaigns. The overhead costs can be prohibitively high, especially for small businesses or amateur entrepreneurs. Yes! too many operational costs, but don’t misunderstand me, it works! And it works well, many millionaires are doing traditional marketing. I have had the opportunity to provide myself with comfort and the chance for a good life with this traditional marketing. But we are talking about advantages, if you have the experience to invest in the business and the budget to take the risk, go ahead. But why take the risk? If you have the money, go for the secure, rich people do it all the time they make asymmetrical investments ( risks/ rewards), as I mentioned in my blog;  Entrepreneurial Lifestyle: Asymmetrical risks and asymmetrical rewards? Start saving! (zitrevyourpassforabetteryou.com)

Advantages of MLM: Flexible Work Environment

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): Distributors have the flexibility to work from home and set their own schedules. This flexibility makes MLM attractive to individuals seeking part-time opportunities or those who need to balance work with other responsibilities. Some people, as a result of the pandemic, learned to appreciate the flexibility that remote work (from home) offers, while others completely rejected it, feeling isolated from society, however, Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) offers the opportunity to combine both masterfully, especially with the help of today's technological advances and AI.

Traditional Marketing: Typically requires adherence to fixed business hours and often involves managing or being part of a physical retail environment. The flexibility is considerably less, limiting opportunities for individuals who need non-traditional work hours.

Advantages of MLM: Direct Relationships and Personalized Sales

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): Focuses on building personal relationships with customers. Distributors often sell products to friends, family, and acquaintances, creating a personalized sales experience. This direct interaction can build trust and loyalty, leading to repeat business and referrals. In this case, making it personal, matters. 😉

Traditional Marketing: Often relies on impersonal mass marketing techniques such as advertising and promotions to attract customers. The lack of personal interaction can make it harder to build strong customer relationships.

Advantages of MLM: Potential for Residual Income

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): Offers the potential for residual income through the recruitment of new distributors. Once a network is established, distributors can earn a commission from the sales made by their recruits. This creates an opportunity for ongoing income even when direct sales efforts are minimal. Taking of retirement, it can be a very generous and stress-free retirement. Why wait until the age of 65 to retire if you can do it by creating a residual income while you are young?

Traditional Marketing: Income is typically dependent on continuous sales and marketing efforts. Once a sale is made, there is no ongoing income unless additional sales are generated through new marketing efforts. In my point of view, this is the biggest advantage multi-level marketing has, that's something you can only do by publishing a bestseller or buying a franchise. And if you start at a young age, you can retire young or dedicate yourself to doing what you really want to do even if it doesn't generate income.

Allow me to share another story; "On one occasion when I went to drop off my mother at the airport, in my blog post  How to play the game of life successfully  I shared that she had an accident that left her quadriplegic when I was 8 years old. Well, while in a special room at Mexico City airport for disabled people, I met an American painter who had been in my country with his exhibition of acrylic paintings, if I remember the technique name correctly. He was a man in a wheelchair like my mother, with the difference that he still could walk, but his overweight and advanced age prevented him from standing or moving for long. He shared with me that he dedicated his youth to working hard and creating a chain of restaurants in Texas. However, his dream and desire had always been to dedicate himself to painting. Due to the responsibility of supporting his family, he couldn't pursue painting until his restaurants became successful. It was then that he decided to transfer his wealth to his children during his lifetime, with the condition that they sponsor his career as an artist.

I think that with opportunities like Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), perhaps it's not necessary to wait so long, don't you think so?

Advantages of MLM: Training and Personal Development

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM):  Companies often provide extensive training and personal development opportunities to their distributors. This training can enhance sales skills, leadership abilities, and personal growth. The Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) structure encourages self-motivation and entrepreneurial thinking.

Traditional Marketing: While training is also provided, it is usually focused on specific job roles and responsibilities rather than personal development. Opportunities for self-motivated growth and entrepreneurship are limited compared to the Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)  model.

Advantages of MLM: Scalability and Market Reach

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): Allows for rapid scalability and market reach without the need for physical retail locations. Distributors can expand their network across different regions and even internationally, leveraging online tools and social media to reach a broader audience. Allow me to mention that AI can be particularly helpful in this case, with languages for example. I love learning languages, I would love to chat with you in your native language but yes! You don´t need to speak a different language if you don’t want to build an international MLM, AI will cover your back.

Traditional Marketing: Expanding market reach typically involves significant investment in new locations, additional staff, and extensive marketing campaigns. Scalability is slower and more resource-intensive. But again if you count on a strong budget you can buy a franchise, equally successful.

Advantages of MLM: The System

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM):  A multi-level marketing, like a franchise, has a proven and tested system. You just need to learn it and teach your associates to replicate it. If you follow it 100%, you will infallibly achieve the success it was designed for, I will dare to say that you don’t even have to think, exactly like a franchise, the employees only follow a system, to serve, to charge, to answer, even to clean the toilets.

Traditional Marketing: Unless you have a system like that of franchises, this can become a real nightmare where you waste time and money while figuring things out. When I opened my spa, even though I already had a degree in cosmetology/cosmiatry and all the theory, on the first day I raised the curtain, I didn't know where to start about the business, yes I knew how to attend to the customer; I had the protocol under control once they were on the massage table, and  I had all the enthusiasm and passion that any entrepreneur has, but I didn't know where to begin in the business. They didn’t teach me that and I forgot to ask.

Additionally, I want to share that millionaires sometimes mention that a multi-level marketing business could be an option to recover their fortunes in case they lose it, for several strategic reasons that we will mention in my next blog post so stay tuned.

Conclusion of Advantages of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) over Traditional Marketing

Multi-Level Marketing presents several advantages over traditional marketing, particularly in terms of lower initial investment, flexibility, personalized sales, potential for residual income, training, and scalability. These benefits make  Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) an attractive option for many individuals seeking entrepreneurial opportunities. However, it is essential to approach MLM with a clear understanding of the business model and the commitment required to succeed. While MLM offers unique advantages, success depends on the distributor's effort, dedication, and ability to build and maintain a robust network. Yes, my dear friends, it implies hard work as usual. 😊An example of this wonderful marketing is NEFFUL, the negative ions clothing.
